So I wrote a parody song to help Stomp Out Malaria in Africa. Stomp Out Malaria is a Peace Corps Wide Africa to stop this debilitating disease that affects the continent. As a member of Peace Corps Burkina Faso’s Community Health and AIDS Task Force (CHAT) we help promote Malaria and other community health awareness throughout the country, so why not do it through song. Enjoy!
Lutter Contre Palu Song Lyrics in French and English
(Apologies for the loss of meaning in translation in English)
*Sung to “Fight for this Love” by Cheryl Cole
Mosquitos are the ones that cause malaria
Too many bites is bad
It’s an endemic disease
Here in Burkina, and throughout Africa
Is it better is worse?
We must describe
What you can do to prevent it
Is it better is worse?
We must describe
What you can do to prevent it.
You must sleep under a mosquito net
That is well installed
You must use neem cream
After bathing and before sleeping
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
Because it will save so many lives
If you are sleeping outside tonight
You must be protected
Attach your mosquito net to the trees
And you can sleep without getting bitten
If you have chills, pay attention
If you also have a fever
You must wrap yourself in a wet pagne/sheet
And go immediately to the clinic
Is it better is worse?
We must describe
What you can do to prevent it
Is it better is worse?
We must describe
What you can do to prevent it.
After bathing and before sleeping
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
We must fight fight fight fight fight against malaria
Because it will save so many lives

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for posting this. Burkina Faso is apparently the musical capital of Peace Corps! Can you post the lyrics (in French and English)? I’d love to share this with some of my colleagues who don’t speak French.
Thanks for your service,

Stomping Out Malaria in Africa
I’ll work on it! They’re already posted in French on the http://www.stompoutmalaria.tumblr.com page, and I would be happy to repost them in English and French on my Blog
Hi Matt,
I would be happy to post the lyrics. This is the first time I’ve had internet in about two weeks. The lyrics are also posted on http://www.stompoutmalaria.tumblr.com. I’ll repost the lyrics by the end of the week
